Early Life and Education

Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, also known as the African Print Designer, was born in Ghana. She grew up in a small town called Akwatia, where she spent a large portion of her childhood playing with her friends outdoors in the rural farmland. She was always interested in the arts from a very young age, so this was one of the main reasons she pursued a career in the fashion industry. Akosua graduated from the University of Ghana with a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing. After her graduation, she moved to Toronto, Canada to pursue her master’s degree in Fashion Merchandising.
